One recent event that did bring this bold and buzzing city to its knees was the terrorist attack on the twin towers of the World Trade Center on September 11th 2001. As devastating as this attack was, the people of New York proved that this is a city that will not be easily beaten by showing unity and determination throughout this horrific period. Even after the destruction of thousands of lives and the globally famous twin towers, New York continues to thrive and move forward.
